Loved reading this! Conversations about new motherhood are always so intriguing to me!! I wrote a post this week titled Newborns are Ultimate Bliss and I’m wondering if certain new moms would be “the fuuuuck she talking about…no!” Or “oh there’s some good advice here, this resonates and I might try this / adapt this mindset”. Either way, here for all perspectives on our journeys.
Aw Kristen, I love your post. That picture of you and your dad is incredibly emotional and beautiful. Also did you really climb all those mountains??? Yes, everyone lands into motherhood in a different place, don't we? I think your approach to wanting to help a new mom combat fears and anxiety is truly beautiful. I wish I knew you when I was going through it! Thank you for reading!
Thank you Shelly!! Yes, I did really climb all those mountains (I should have added photographic evidence!) Appreciate your comments, too kind and thoughtful of you.
Wow. This made me feel better. I’m long past the newborn stage but it put me right back in those feelings. Thank you for sharing this. I love the idea of having people submit questions, that’s awesome!
Thank you for reading, Emma! I'm glad AND sad you can relate! :)
Also, this is one of the areas in which I'd love to collaborate with other moms. I think it would be fun and useful to have multiple perspectives answer the same question. I would love to have you participate if you're interested!
Ah this is wonderful! Thanks so much for including my piece or rather collection of pieces 😂 I can’t take credit for the writing in there mostly but I read them and felt they worth sharing esp with new mums or mums with babies. There was a piece by author Libby Page about not falling in love straight away which was a great read.
And also I love this idea of sending in questions. I think esp in that first year or two I kept all the questions in my head (it was lockdown too there was no one to ask!??!) but now I blab my darkest fears to anyone in a metre radius and it helps.
Helps to get it out and not have it rattling around getting more of a thing. Also finding journalling (and writing on Substack a huge help too.)
It does help! Hopes you and it helps anyone else going through it. Nothing feels lonelier than thinking there’s something wrong with you. And oh my goodness having a baby in lockdown is its own special kind of hell.
From a fellow middle-aged lady mom - this is a great column idea!
Thank you, Lauren! As you well know, middle-aged lady moms have no shortage of opinions! Thank you for reading!
This column is such a fun and funny idea!
Thank you for reading, Natasha!

* Helps, not hopes, although “hope” does factor in there, too!
Forgot to say I am trying to keep that post updated with new articles as they come as well 🙌🏻👶🍼
Oh I hope so!! It’s such a great resource!
Thank you ❤️🙌🏻
