Today I was so overcome with a desire to talk about AND JUST LIKE THAT I think I started a chat. Yay? Consider this a perk of being a Middle-Aged Lady Mom subscriber.

But Shelly! What is the point of this! We already have too many things to read. Why do you want to TALK to us too?

Great question.

Have you ever been at a waiting for your friend to arrive restaurant and pretended to be engrossed in the menu but really you’re eavesdropping on the conversation at the table next to you? That’s fun right? So you can do that here too!

Think also of this chat as a place of solace. A port in your storms. A warm bosom encased in a padded bralette that offers little to no support. But it’s comfortable and really isn’t that all we’re after here?

You can also use the chat to:

• find likeminded MILFs¹ looking to make meaningful connections

• vent

• gossip

• seek advice from strangers on the internet

• share pet pics

• talk about me like I’m not in the room

• share links to other Substack chats that are more entertaining than this one

Whatever, man! I made this chat for you. The least you can do is use it!

This is a conversation space exclusively for subscribers. Ooh la la! We can absolutely talk about non-subscribers behind their backs— they’ll literally never know. Today we talk about And Just Like That. Tomorrow we talk about dogs or how expensive sparkling water is or tips on working from home this summer when there are sixteen tween boys in your house and your son interrupts your meeting saying, “Everything’s fine, but where I can find a bunch of towels?”
