Congrats on one year! 🥂 You've got such a fun newsletter, it always makes me laugh—sometimes out loud and sometimes in weird little snorts. It also makes me think to myself, god if only I were a better writer like this middle-aged lady mom whose humor I so resonate with! Keep it coming!! 💖
Ahhhhhhh yeahhhhhh, best compliment ever! I’ll include you in next year’s round up! I really appreciate your kind words! Love your newsletter too and I’m sure I’d love your weird little snorts if I heard them in real life!
No joke, I was going to write a whole bullet about how our kindred spirits found each other here and how you’re the funniest person I know and yes, we MUST be related somehow, etc. but then I felt bad for my actual brother and maybe even my (our?) dad who would think I loved my Substack family more than them and then over-thought the whole thing for 7 hours and just decided to write that whole section in a comment instead. Much better this way, I think!
Aw, that makes me happy. Not the agonizing, internal turmoil you went through, but that you feel that way. Me too! (I don't have an actual sister, though, so I don't have to worry about insulting anyone. Except my dad, I guess. But he kind of has it coming.)
A book? May I have a signed copy? Hopefully it is out on kindle as book clutter is a thing! Looking forward to the book that you know where I will read it!!!! Happy anniversary I do enjoy your reading material in my favorite spot on Thursdays. But your poor brother like your husband is often vilified. So sad.
Mr. O’Hara! Another milestone! Your first comment! Thank you for reading. I know what high standards you have. Bart is definitely not villified. Unless we’re talking about his dishwasher loading tendencies. My brother has an unusually high influence on this newsletter and I’m not sure why. Hope the pillow biz is treating you well!
Congratulations on year one and best wishes for continued success with fresh material as you journey on through Milf (Malm)-hood. 🤭 Write On Sista.😘👊💪✍️📝
Also you all are proving my point: I put your three favorite words right in the title and this is one of the highest performing posts right out of the gate.
AND BREAKING NEWS FROM MY DAD! I stand corrected! Just got this email from him:
"I read every one of your writings. I just don’t critique them like your brother does. However we do discuss them."
Congrats Shelly!
Thank you, Kathryn! You have been a highpoint of this year for sure!
You are too kind, my friend!
